Iron Age Designs Trench Grating
The strength of Iron Age’s product line is centered in their trench drain grating. Iron Age built their business by offering creative and affordable ornamental grating options for existing trench drain systems. They began first by designing decorative grating options for the residential channel drain products offered by NDS. They quickly turned their attention to grating options for some of the more commercial trench drain products in the marketplace such as ACO, Polydrain, Smith/ACO and Mea. Today, they have more than 2 dozen standard options available for decorative cast iron grating for off-the-shelf trench drain systems. They also have an additional selection of grates that fit their own custom frame. So, whether you have an existing system that you’re considering or not, Iron Age Designs has a trench drain grating product that will turn your hum-drum drainage structure into an attractive and functional architectural highlight.

MinnioneThis might be the first trench drain grate designed by Iron Age. It fits NDS Mini Channel. The Minnione decorative grate has a pattern indicative of the flow of nature. This grate is well suited for swimming pools and patio areas, and it comes in a variety of metals to suit the individual tastes of residential customers. |

ArgoThe Argo decorative grate has a pattern that invokes the power of the high seas. This pattern is nice to use in seaside communities and water parks. The pattern is made to fit Tiger, ABT, ACO, MEA and J.R. Smith 100 mm wide Channels. |

CarbochonIs a design that accentuates any landscape and is suited for high traffic areas and driveways. It gives the feeling of security with its woven metal pattern. This pattern is made for the NDS 3” wide Mini channel and 8” wide Pro-Series. A 5” wide version is made to fit standard 100mm x 1 meter channels such as Tiger, ACO, ABT MEA and J.R. Smith products |

Greek KeyWas inspired by an ancient Greek architectural look. This pattern is made for the standard 100mm wide by 1 meter long channels (Tiger, ABT, ACO, Mea and J.R. Smith). Recently, however, this product was made to fit Mea’s 200 mm wide product line. The wider version of the Greek Key has much nicer detail. |

InterlakenIs the most widely developed grate pattern made by Iron Age Designs. Not only is it used in a number of catch basins and tree grates, it is made in six trench drain sizes. OblioThis falling raindrop pattern is a very popular look in residential and commercial settings. It is used in many catch basin and tree grate patterns. It is only available for 100mm wide trench channels (Tiger, ABT, ACO…) and 200mm Mea channels. However, as it is gaining in popularity, look for it in other channel sizes. |

ParadiseEveryone wants to own a little piece of paradise. You can too! This unique open grate style allows for good water passage while also being ADA compliant. It’s available for the 100 mm wide standard trench channels, such as Tiger, ABT, ACO, MEA and J.R. Smith. |

River RockWas inspired by….you got it…river rocks. It’s a nice ADA pattern, but has a low percent open space. It’s currently available for all standard 100 mm wide x 1 m long trench drain channels. |

SunsetHas somewhat of a Mayan feel to it. Can it be referring to a Mayan sunset or possibly to Sunset Boulevard? Whatever! It’s an odd name for a curiously appealing design. So far it only comes in one pattern size. |

Mission BayIs a cast perforated grate that is made to be heel-proof. The extra high perimeter legs on the grate make it only usable with Iron Age custom frames. |

Urban RythymsIs another custom product made to be used with Iron Age frames. These 9” x 18” grates are also heel-proof. They have a “downtown” feel to them that is appropriate for big city settings. |
