Dead Level Trench Drain
The Dead Level Trench Drain by Watts Drainage Products is a one of the newest trench drain innovations in the marketplace. The polypropylene system measures 6.25” (outside dimension) wide with standard pre-sloped channels that are 48” in length. This uniquely designed system is unlike any system of its class on the market. It boasts a frame anchored design which allows the system to be more easily leveled during installation. Flanged channels and end caps are solidly secured with coarse threaded screws, which maintain a truly straight alignment of the channel system. The lightweight system can be quickly handled and adjusted during installation. With a standard slope of 0.7% and a low resistance, rounded bottom channel construction, it has the greatest flow capabilities of any 4” wide channel system.
Dead Level was “designed around the frame” because the frame plays such an integral role in the system’s strength and durability and is designed to keep the system perfectly level during installation. Frames support the channel from within, protecting it against compressive bending (also known as “pinching”) during the installation’s concrete pour. Also, part of the frame design is the rebar leveling eyes (or ears), which use a bolt to tighten against the rebar anchors that suspend the channel during installation. Once the channel has been adjusted to height, the eyelet bolt can be tightened to secure the channel without any use of accessories, such as installation brackets. The system is so lightweight that height adjustments on it are easy.
Two Dead Level products are available based on the frame type. Dead Level P has a channel topped by a polypropylene frame (shown above). There are a variety of grating options which make the Dead Level P suitable for loads up to Class C. The Dead Level D, on the other hand, has a heavy duty frame constructed from ductile iron. This ductile iron frame can support heavy duty traffic seen in airports and industrial complexes (up to Class F) and disperses load pressure through its “ears” into the concrete to eliminate potential channel damage.
Dead Level channels are available in 1 ft increments, a rarity in construction that eliminates the need for on-site cutting and unnecessary hassle. Dead Level offers two catch basin sizes: 6” x 24” and 24” x 24”. Both basins have galvanized steel and stainless steel frame guard options. Other innovations include bottom and side “knock out points” for no-hub outlet connections. A special adapter is available that makes “Tee” and corner connections easy.

Frame & Grate System
Watts has two Frame & Grate systems that utilize 12” wide ductile iron grates and an epoxy-coated steel anchor frame.
TD-900B
TD-900B is a heavy duty grating system that utilizes an anchored frame to hold the 12” x 12” ductile iron grates (See photo at right side bar). Frame grates are available in 12”, 24” and 36” lengths. There is also a vandal-proof grate locking option available.
TD-910B
TD-910B is Watts’ frame and grate system for heavy duty application. The system has an extra heavy duty slotted ductile iron grate (12” x 24”). Frame grates are available in 24”, 48” and 72” lengths. The heavy duty slotted grate has two rows of parallel slots, a different pattern than the standard grating. A vandal-proof grating option is also available.

Steel Trench Drain
Watts offers two steel trench drain systems for applications which require a rugged, industrial grade trench drain system.
TD-920B
TD-920B is an epoxy coated, steel bodied channel body that can reach lengths up to 10 feet. The 12” x 12” heavy duty ductile iron grates set loose in the 2” high frame. The channel is available with a 2”, 3”, 4” or 6” no-hub bottom outlet. This system has an optional anchor flange and clamp for specialized floor installations, as well as a vandal-proof option to prevent harmful tampering. An optional bottom outlet strainer catches debris and can be cleaned out to stop drain clogging.
TD-940B
TD-940B is an epoxy coated, steel bodied channel body that can reach lengths up to 10 feet. The 5” x 5” heavy duty ductile iron grates set loose in the 2” high frame. The channel is available with a 2”, 3” 4” or 6” no-hub bottom outlet. This system has an optional anchor flange and clamp for specialized floor installations, as well as a vandal-proof option to prevent harmful tampering. An optional bottom outlet strainer catches debris and can be cleaned out to stop drain clogging.

Parking Area Drains
Watts offers an assortment of heavy duty area drains which are designed for the rigors of high volume, urban parking garages and decks. Their products range from ductile iron, flanged drains with 12” x 12” heavy duty grates to large capacity drains with a 24” x 24” opening and a deep reservoir. Models are available with hinged grating. Some drains are available with grates made with a nickel-bronze alloy.

Interceptors
Watts offers a wide assortment of grease and oil interceptor. Grease interceptors cover a range of capacities and flow rates. The smallest interceptor handles as little as 8 lbs of grease while the largest can store 1000 lbs. of grease. Flow rates are as high as 500 gpm. Similarly, the oil interceptors can see 500 gpm of flow while efficiently isolating unwanted oil.
Smaller in-line hair and sediment interceptors are another specialty of Watts. Though limited in throughput and capacity, they have products that are made from cast iron and stainless steel and can be chrome or epoxy coated. And for laundry mats, they have Lint and Sand interceptors that can handle a business with as many as 50 washing machines.
